Bose as i know is the best brand in the market for audio.
But as others are saying i also think that it is over priced.
So i suggest u to go to showrooms listen to 3-4 top brands like Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon, JBL, Bose etc and decide what to buy.
Dont go by brand name, listen and decide which one u feel is good.

Before you buy – wonder why Home Theater, Stereophile, Widescreen Review has NEVER ever published a review of Bose?

This is because Bose threatens to sue any magazine that reviews their speakers.

“What are they hiding”?

Another thing to check: Ask the salesman how to hook up your BluRay HD-DVD player and your HD Cable box to a Bose system so you can enjoy 5.1 sound from these other sources.

(This is a bit of a trick because you cant.)

absolutely agree with chance and been there done that… Bose is incredibly expensive incredibly over-rated. The brands they mentioned are definitely superior in my estimation. BUT it’s a free country. If you want Bose, go for it! go listen to them… pick what sounds best to you.

Buy a really cheap Durabrand HTIB in Walmart, it will sound better than any expensive Bose system.

I would not get the Bose at all. Over priced and over rated.
Use the money and get yourself a nice 5.1 speaker system with a receiver for that money.
Look at Denon, Onkyo, Pioneer, Yamaha for a nice receiver.
Speakers are subjective so what I might think sounds good you might not think so.

you could spend less and get a better system with other top-tier audio brands, such as denon, onkyo, the sony es line, or the pioneer elite line if space isn’t a huge concern, but for size considerations, you can’t beat a bose system. i’d go with whatever one sounds best to you, so look for an authorized dealer.
